Right after graduation, he was recruited as a Business Development team member at Sears and Roebuck, one of Americas leading retail stores. While employed, Mr. Balogun learnt firsthand the fundamentals of the retail merchandising business. He managed different arms of the conglomerate with excellent recommendations.

Two years later, He was head hunted by Chase Manhattan Bank as an Account Executive in the private banking sector. All the while, the urge to be an entrepreneur has always been in Mr. Balogun having carefully studied his mother grow her business from petty trading to a mega store in Nigeria. 

The stint with Chase bank lasted about two years after which Goldmine Realtors was established by Mr. Balogun, a company set up to buy fore-closed houses in the State of New York which was later renovated and either rented out or sold out rightly. This proved to be a lucrative and profitable venture for him as all the basic knowledge and training received over the years paid off.

After being away from Nigeria for 9 years, bustling with ideas and innovations, He relocated to Nigeria in 2005 and quickly set up Goldmine Global Services Limited. Realizing the Nigerian business climate is obviously different from the American system, He immediately enrolled at the Lagos Business School to acquaint himself with the local business terrain and enhance his management skills.

He is a member of several professional bodies and organization including the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Manufacturers association of Nigeria (MAN). With his passion for the New Nigeria, Leadership, and entrepreneurship development, Mr. Balogun is a facilitator, mentor and donor with several nonprofit organizations in Nigeria.

He’s happily married with children.
